• What will you learn?

  LCA 9010 is an advanced course designed specifically for people who have taken on the role of the responsible person or statutory duty holder for the control of legionella in the workplace.

  The course takes a detailed look at Legionnaires’ disease and the control of Legionella bacteria in hot and cold water systems. It covers water safety risk management, current best practice procedures, latest guidance and the rules and safety regulations that surround this process including the Health and Safety Executives ACOP L8 and HSG274 Parts 2 (Hot & Cold Water) and 3 (Other Risk Systems).

• Who is this course for?

  This advanced course is specifically for people appointed as the responsible person or duty holder with responsibility for the control of legionella in the workplace. It is ideal for landlords, business owners and directors, health and safety specialists, property and facilities managers and maintenance technicians who need a detailed understanding of Legionnaires’ disease, the control of legionella in the workplace, the UKs regulatory framework and those steps required to achieve compliance with the law including the HSEs ACOP L8, and HSG274 Parts 2 and 3.

• Is this course independently accredited by a recognised body?

  Yes, all our legionella training courses have been developed in partnership with City & Guilds and are fully accredited by them. We are also regulated by the UK’s Legionella Control Association (LCA) to deliver specialist legionella training courses and we are a UK Government registered learning provider.

  Yes, this advanced course is specifically for people appointed as the responsible person or duty holder. It provides a detailed understanding of Legionnaires’ disease, the control of legionella in the workplace, water safety risk management, the UKs regulatory framework and those steps required to achieve compliance with the law.

• Are there any pre-qualification requirements?

  No, although prior knowledge of health and safety management, engineered water systems and issues dealing with the control of legionella risks would be of benefit.

• How long is the course?

  This course will last two days.

• Will you receive a training certificate?

  On successful completion of this course you may receive a City & Guilds “Certificate of Attainment” for this advanced legionella training course.

  This certificate is valid for three years and should be retained as evidence of formal training in this subject.

• Where are the courses held?

  Our main training centres are located in London, Manchester and Glasgow, with additional venues in Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds and Newcastle.
