Simon Hughes – Senior Consultant
Simon Hughes is a leading water treatment professional who has over 25 years’ experience. He is a trained chemist with experience from the water treatment, and water hygiene sectors in dealing with all aspects of legionella related issues in the industrial and institutional market places in many countries across the globe.
Simon is an Applied Chemistry graduate of the University of Greenwich, and is a Chartered Chemist who has held a number of senior management and operational roles for some of the world’s largest water treatment and environmental hygiene companies. He is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and also of the UK’s Water Management Society.
Simon has extensive experience in conducting legionella and other safety related risk assessments and audits, training, and regulatory compliance matters to the meet the requirements of the UK’s Health & Safety Executives Approved Code of Practice and guidance (ACoP) L8 “Legionnaires’ disease. The control of legionella bacteria in water systems”, HSG274 Legionnaires’ disease: Technical guidance Parts 1, 2 and 3; and other applicable guidelines.
