John Dobson is a director of Legionella Control International and brings a wealth of senior management and international experience to this important role. He has a Degree in Chemistry and over 30 years experience from the international water treatment, water and environmental hygiene sectors. Dr Paul McDermott has an honours degree and PhD in microbiology and spent the first 11 years of his career in microbiology research and as a university lecturer. Paul previously worked as a Specialist Inspector in the Health and Safety Executive’s Biological Agents Unit. In his role as a regulator, much of Paul’s time was spent working in the field of occupational Legionella risk control. Dr Tom Makin has been actively involved in all aspects of clinical diagnostic microbiology for 40 years. He was Directorate Manager of the Department of Medical Microbiology at the Royal Liverpool University Hospitals for 25 years. Bernie Jones is a senior legionella consultant with Legionella Control International. Since the early 1980’s Bernie has been involved in many aspects of industrial and commercial water treatment, and the delivery of legionella related services to commercial, industrial and institutional market places throughout the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe. Jamie Tranter is a senior consultant Legionella Control International and brings a wealth of operational and senior management experience to this important role. He holds Degrees in Biology and Geography and has over 20 years experience from the national and international water and occupational hygiene sectors, with particular emphasis on the control and management of legionella risks. Chris Keeling is a senior legionella consultant with Legionella Control International. He is an experienced water treatment specialist and has worked for Legionella Control International for a number years. Paul Woodroffe is an experienced legionella and water safety consultant delivering a range of specialist services including legionella and water safety risk assessments, independent auditing, consultancy services and legionella training. Matthew Polhill is a legionella and water safety specialist delivering a range of services including legionella and water safety risk assessments, independent auditing and legionella training to clients. John Newbold is a senior legionella consultant and expert witness with Legionella Control International. He is an experienced health and safety professional, Legionella control and infectious diseases specialist; and former senior regulator with the UK’s Health and Safety Executive. Dennis Kelly brings a wealth of experience to Legionella Control Internationals specialist risk management and compliance advisory team. Mr Kelly is a leading water treatment professional who has over 25 years experience in dealing with all aspects of legionella related issues in industrial and institutional market places in many countries across the globe. Ken Ashley has worked in the field of microbiology since graduating from Liverpool University with an Honours Degree in Microbiology in 1970. He was later awarded a M.Sc. in Microbiology by dissertation, again from Liverpool University. Ken is a Chartered Biologist. Dr. Jim Robinson is a Chartered Biologist with over 25 years experience from the international water treatment, water and environmental hygiene sectors. He is also a member of the Institute of Biology, a European Professional Biologist, a member of the UK’s Water Management Society; and was past chairman of the British Association for Chemical Specialities, Industrial Biocides Group.Key People
