Legionella Checklist for Landlords, Property Owners, Duty Holders & the Responsible Person

Our essential legionella checklist has been developed to help landlords, property owners, duty holders, the responsible person and facilities managers control the risks associated with legionella in water systems.

Legionella compliance is an essential risk management process that must be carefully managed. With the correct management controls and procedures in place you can help to ensure the health and safety of tenants, employees and others is protected. However, the consequences of getting it wrong can be serious, particularly for those individuals involved with an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease, including the responsible organisation, its staff and those affected.

ACOP L8 legionella checklist for landlords

Our legionella checklist has been prepared to help landlords, property owners, managing agents, facilities managers and those with responsibility for property assets to quickly review their legionella compliance activities against the requirements of the Health & Safety Executives’ Approved Code of Practice ACOP L8, and HSG274 guidance which deal with the control of Legionella bacteria in water systems.

Our legionella compliance checklist is quick and easy to complete and will rapidly identify whether your organisation is compliant with the law regarding the control and management of legionella risks.

Excellent as a first stage review tool, this self-audit checklist will help to identify whether key management and control procedures are in place, all of which have been shown to be critical to the successful management of legionella risks.

Essential reading for landlords & property owners

Our legionella checklist has been developed by our property and facilities sector specialists specifically for landlords, property owners, duty holders, managing agents and facilities managers.

This checklist is quick and easy to complete and will rapidly identify whether your organisation is compliant with current legislation.

What UK health & safety laws govern the control of legionella?

Our legionella checklist deals with compliance under the Health & Safety Executive’s Approved Code of Practice ACOP L8 – “Legionnaires’ disease: The control of legionella bacteria in water systems”, and HSG274. This ACOP L8, often simply referred to as “L8” forms the basis around which the control of legionella related risks are managed. It is enforceable under the following legislation:

  • Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999
  • Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002
  • Health & Safety at Work Act 1974

Our “Legionella Checklist for Landlords, Property Owners & Managing Agents” is currently only available to landlords, recognised property sector professionals, managers and operators. To receive your copy call us on 0330 223 36 86 or get in touch here … contact us
