New Practical Legionella Training Course Brings Essential Skills In-House
As the risks associated with legionella continues to rise around the world, experts Legionella Control have launched a new course that could help companies save money and maintain compliance. Using their in-depth insight, the company is offering ten practical training modules covering water safety monitoring and maintenance for water systems that firms will be able to sign existing members of staff up for.
Legionella bacteria, which can lurk in any manmade water system, has the potential to cause Legionnaires’ disease. The disease can lead to life threatening pneumonia-like infections and organ failure. Research indicates that the deadly bug is on the rise and could be present in millions of systems across the UK and further afield. While most companies outsource routine monitoring and maintenance obligations, Legionella Control’s new course puts the power back in their hands. Perfect for facilities management technicians, caretakers, housekeepers, engineering contractors, and more, the course delivers a range of practical, on the job skills.
Simon Dooner, Director of Legionella Control, said “Employers, landlords, and others responsible for the control of premises need to remain vigilant against legionella and be aware of their legal obligations. At the moment, this typically means spending money to outsource routine tasks but with proper training in place for employees, firms can take control of their processes or complement existing procedures to save on costs and improve safety – a real win-win outcome. Our latest course does just that, providing everything attendees need to know about legionella and how to minimise the risks.”
The valuable course is efficiently delivered in full across a single day but participants are given the flexibility to choose the course modules they want to take. Split into ten distinct segments, ranging from temperature monitoring to chemical dosing, the Legionella Control course is designed to be adaptable to suit each business’ needs. Created to be in line with government standards and industry best practices, firms can rest assured that their employees will be able to handle all monitoring and maintenance on completion.
The course is concluded with a short, multiple choice test and certificate to demonstrate formal training. Legionella Control are delivering the
training programme throughout the UK and internationally, utilising their experience and industry insights to provide invaluable skills for businesses.
